Weekly Classes

Arts Education is a vital part of the mission of Park Playhouse. We firmly believe that developing a more culturally-engaged student body provides significant on-going benefit to our entire region. We offer a variety of programs, ranging from dance classes to workshops with Broadway professionals to summer-based camp programs. While we revel in working with students to build new skills for the theatre, and take pride in seeing our graduates go on to great success in the Broadway and film communities, we are equally concerned with providing young people with the confidence and comfort that they will need to succeed in any public speaking or professional environment. The performing arts build self-confidence and an ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with others: all skills that are absolutely essential in life, school and business. We offer classes for students as young as 8 years old and for ranging skill levels - from beginners to advanced students hoping to pursue a college degree and career in the performing arts!

ACting I & II (Grades 6-8 and 9-12)

This class series is dedicated to advancing students’ skills in the art of acting. While many local students have private voice teachers or participate in dance studios, it is our experience that very few students have gained formal instruction in acting technique. We firmly believe that this is essential for success in theatre, including success as a dancer or vocalist. Learn improvisation techniques, character development, scene deconstruction, and more!
Acting I: Wednesdays, 7-8pm, September 12-December 5
Acting II: Tuesdays, 7-8pm, September 11-December 4
